ALL BOARD CHANGES will be finalized once approved by City Council. Until then, we ask existing board directors to continue to make themselves available to vote on any actionable items.
We ask that all Board members actively watch their email through the lockdown as virtual voting is permitted – also as we continue with Zoom Board meetings until further notice.

Two cannabis retailers have applications submitted within our BIA boundaries:
1. 778 Concession with Sparkle Cannabis Company
2.792 Concession with Steel City Cannabis
Nothing approved as of yet. I will keep everyone updated as I am advised of any next steps.

- COVID library on BIA website remains up-to-date
- New business listing of who is open (and how the opening is modified through the lockdown) is also posted on the BIA website

- MOTION: suspend any further planning on large scale events until at least Fall 2021
- Update on Sidewalk Sounds 2021 – target combination of online and live (when responsible to do so) performances

- Added lighting to Concession Pizza alleyway now activated
- Asking business owners to leave some lights on in their shops – for their safety and to act as a deterrent for crime
- Homeless man that was based in front of 542, then 503, then porch of Edgemount Manor has now moved on

- Mountain Drive Park Redevelopment Task Force meeting last night. Looking to improve accessibility, lighting, safety, potentially add a splash pad or lease free dog area, more benches, picnic tables, upgrade washrooms, upgrade play structure – but maintain simplicity of park, do not touch any mature trees or remove any park area for additional parking. More info to come – please advise if you are interested in participating in this task force moving forward.
